Illustration/Work
2021 -
-- Start up of 'Scootsie Creations', a mini family business with illustrated wrapping paper, greetings cards, gift tags and mini pet paintings available on Etsy and via craft market stalls. Additionally, pet portrait (and other) commissions are offered. I have created various for individuals already - please visit my Scootsie Creations website for further examples of my work.
December 2020 - April 2021:
-- Illustrated over 20 pictures for theatre group 'The Crown Players'' online production of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy' radio play. Worked over a few months to particular deadlines to get the images together that would accompany the voicework for six episodes. Great to design for a sci-fi theme and illustrate to a story. Hand-drawn and coloured in Photoshop. Final output on Youtube.

-- Update logo for 'Southgate Brass' website - simplified it to make it suitable to be put on a football shirt.
May 2017:
-- Freelance illustrating for Explore Horizons once again, to provide one of the prizes for the winner of the 2017 Young Writers' Competition of an illustrated poster/cover interpretation of their sci-fi/futuristic short story. Working in a very short amount of time, I sketched out and outlined traditionally on separate pieces of paper, then scanned, pieced together and coloured in Photoshop.

-- Freelance illustrating for Explore Horizons of the final two workbooks in the series: 'Being An American' and 'Me & My World'.

2015:
-- Two T-shirt designs created for Explore Horizons for summer camp and maths award programmes. Sketched out traditionally, then outlined and coloured digitally. Thought it would look best to show them as the actual T-shirt rather than just the digital files!
-- Illustrated two more workbook covers for Explore Horizons during 2015 with 'Science' and 'Biography' themes; including extra chapter images inside the books. Have copies of these books in 'hard' form, too!
November 2014:
-- Logo Design for 'Southgate Brass' tuition service. Initial pencil sketches with editing and colour in Photoshop.
October - November 2014
-- Freelance illustration for the front and back cover of an educational workbook for tutoring company Explore Horizons (was the US branch of Explore Learning UK). Hand-drawn, then coloured and put together in Photoshop. I also supplied extra images as headings within the book.
March 2014:
-- Logo design concepts with a jackal theme for individual towards start up company. Pencil sketched.

-- Freelance Illustrating, drawing observed cats, full-bodied and partially, in black and white with ink pen, for an e-book supporting fundraising for cats rescue work. So fortunate to get such experience and to be able to draw a) cats to b) help towards their fundraising with c) the tools I like best. Here is the front cover, but there was also several cats inside.

-- Exhibition of Imagination. Took part in a local exhibit for artists with a variety of styles and experience. Showed traditional and digitally coloured art and illustrations. Won a little something for some doodles!

-- Volunteer assistant in some Art, Design & Technology lessons with year fours at a Primary school. Supporting and suggesting as the pupils created and painted clay models, designed images towards the Queen's Jubilee and even practiced some stitching techniques and so on. Good experience to get back to other arty roots and brave working with children!

June 2010 - Ongoing:
-- 'Wolf' - Volunteer Colourist for the independent 2D feature animation, 'Wolf', which is a project coming together from people from around the world (base in USA) through the internet. I have also had a chance to make suggestions and create character design concepts, as well. A great experience to keep involvement within animation and get me more focused with colouring practices (!), and generally an exciting chance to work on a feature film.

-- 'Child Of The Moor' - Traditional clean up, scanner...er and digital colouring assistance to Mr Nick Thorne on his UWE university final animated film.

-- "Not I" - My traditionally-animated final film at UWE. 2D hand-drawn, scanned and tidied up in Photoshop and compiled together in After Effects. The sudden murder of the Little Red Hen by a dog and cat collaboration becomes the responsibility of the hapless pig — how will he get rid of the body? 4 minutes 30 seconds (roughly). A lot of work!

November 2009 - June 2010:
-- 'The Incredible Journey' of the SS Great Britain. Animated documentary about the famous Brunel ship docked at Bristol harbour, animated by several UWE students for the 40th anniversary since its homecoming to Bristol. I was a character designer and animator for part three, using Flash for the project. UWE. Below are some scenes I had some involvement in.

December 2009 - February 2010:
-- 'Acedia' - Collaboration with a Masters student (Dominique Bongers) and a music student (Julia Pajot) from the Royal Academy of Music, London. Flowing toilet paper (!) was filmed in darkness (to hide the person manning the toilet paper), and then the most successful parts were edited into After Effects for an interesting abstract film. Music to roughly fit the imagery was created by the RAM composer. 1 minute+. UWE.

May 2009 - June 2009:
-- 'ALICE' - Alice talks about one of her obsessions. Collaboration with fellow students Jessica Marcell and Tanya Scott. Interview/Comedy. Animated and cleaned up traditionally with mixed media backgrounds. I animated the Humpty scene (I cringe!), produced some sound foley and designed the characters. ALICE was long-listed by Virgin Media Shorts.

November 2008 - February 2009:
-- 'Biscuit Man' - A film created in our second year by another group as Father Time was being created by my group. A lot can happen while a man is minding his own business, eating a biscuit in the park. While I did not animate on this film, I was one of the executive producers and I also helped out with the traditional clean up. A film by fellow students, animated traditionally.

-- 'Father Time' - An old man with OCD must wind his grandfather clock every morning, else the world will be in big trouble... A 'SKEWL' production, with fellow students Peter Kimball-Evans and Arianne Wolodarsky for a second year film module. Animated in Flash, I animated sections in several scenes, produced some sound foley and designed the characters (save the cat) and the props.
