Wolf And Snowy

I don't think I have already posted these...

I finally came to an end with the Snow Leopard I had as 'in progress' in earlier posts. Sometimes after so long you just can't go much further with more personal art, and that's absolutely fine. Here's the picture in its 'that's enough' state:

Not currently having any more of that particular card, I decided to see what effect other kinds of coloured paper I have in my possession would have with the watercolour pencils. Here's my little experiment of a wolf (with snow on his nose) on some paper/card which has some texture -- it was not so effective, and partially due to the colour as well as the grain. Even so, it was nice to try another picture with those pencils purely on my own, and in time I would like to find better papers and create more complete pictures.

Thanks for looking.

Bit Of Observation

In London, in June, I used up my last bit of time before the train home to do a bit of sketching at the Natural History Museum. Not loads, though, as there was a lot of public about and I'm a touch embarrassed by people looking at my drawings! I got some positive comments from the nosy parkers, at least... (thank you!)... though they have a habit of looking when you're making crappier drawings. Haven't updated here in a little while again so might as well plop some results here.

(That dik-dik or whatever it is has very weird legs here... in my defence, you'll understand them looking that way if you ever see it in the museum!)

The rough people outlines are from my viewing of train stations and such on my journey home. The macaw doodles were reference for myself for another drawing, and the cat... is my very own darling I was inspired to do some super quick sketches of one day.

And I went on holiday and was too busy to draw, but I did a few very quick doodles from my hotel balcony facing on to the pretty garden. Clearly a few elements of this were not observed whatsoever... but what the hey.

Thank you for looking.

A Few Shades Of Brown

Hello!

I have not abandoned this place. Thanks as ever to those who continue to view it and have respect of the work on here.

Small bit of news: Back in February I joined an art group and have been to some interesting talks with various artists. When we try out anything if it's any good I will pop it here. I am also near completion (as much as I want to do) of my Snow Leopard picture that I posted a bit ago, and have also tried a few other images of that sort that I might post soon.

For now here's a quick doodle I did of Radagast the Brown, wizard of Middle-Earth. Not intended as anything special, I just wanted to draw the character and put something here to illustrate the post.

Werewolf Concept

This unfinished picture sat in my folder a long time on my computer; so finally I decided that enough was enough and I would upload it in its unfinished state, so I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. This started as a sketch straight on to Photoshop with the mouse and very slowly developed. It was fun to try and go a different way about 'painting' a picture on the computer. So yeah, a werewolf concept of sorts.

Is this my first post of 2014? I cannot remember. Hello there, 2014, and thanks again to those who look at my stuff.
