Art group little picture trade with a hare or robin theme. Here's my 'mixed media' hare: pen, cut out shapes and watercolour on a part of an Xmas card. The picture I got back was a lovely, very well-made felt? hare scene!
Next for the art group was the yearly exhibition in February (oh how much has changed since then). Inspiration just wasn't with me the beginning of this year, and after a few attempts that just weren't working out, in need for any picture as not to miss out, I looked back to that train painting I did last year (just a few posts below this). Not my usual animal piece to fit the nature theme, but this piece is set in the countryside, so why not? Made a few edits to the piece to bring it out some more. It might be the dim setting I have on this new laptop, otherwise the photo doesn't really catch the vibrancy of the painting, which was the problem with the photos before... just imagine it with stronger colours, please! Anyway, it got commented on at the appreciation night for looking as if in movement with the steam coming out, and it did look like it was being viewed at an angle (from above), so that's always positive bonus for a piece I wasn't sure about or intending to display.
'View From Corfe Castle'
(The colours look so dull here... argh!!)
EDIT: This shows the colours a little better...
Another post very soon...
