Happy New Year 2012

I didn't get a picture in before Xmas, but here's a simple little 'Happy New Year!' card to show I am most certainly about. Snow? What snow?

2012 I hope shall be most arty.

Looky, More Life Drawing

I forgot that I'd actually have another Thursday where I'd be able to do life drawing before I leave.

To try and bring a bit of difference to my drawings, I brought out the good ol' coloured pencils again. Any more interesting?

September Life Drawing

It has been a little while... My time in London soon draws to a close. I have finally had another chance to attend life drawing - perhaps I can attend next week too, and that might be my last of the drawings in London for now. How sad.

From last page to first because images don't upload the way that I want and I don't know how to fix it. I'm also too lazy to reorder them which I usually have to do.

This was quite a long pose and I finished what I wanted before so I drew various versions around.

Conscious that I drew a lot of pictures which use several rough lines, I've again tried to keep to a single line and with my hand high up on the pen.

The usual awful beginning drawings. Amongst the scribbles are life drawings.

I'm still not very happy with my pictures I've done here. On another note: here's hoping I'll finally have more non-observational drawings soon to bring colour back on to my page.

Life Drawing August 2011

I have life drawn! At the place that is insanely close to me.

Of course not having done life drawing in some while it's not great; but here we go:

The initial first drawings on the very first page, always a bit ooh-err...

Got the ol' charcoal out again.

Played around with some highlights because this drawing on its own didn't seem enough. Now she looks like a swamp creature.

And some objects in the room for when I had finished drawing the woman.

I shall hopefully return to the life drawing soon.

More Animals And V&A

My many posts shall probably slow down for a bit now as work really consumes me... but I shall continue to try and draw when I can. I discovered some life drawing sessions happen ridiculously close to where I reside, so shall investigate that one next week.

**Also: A big thank you to those who do take the time to look through my blog! To know even one person is looking makes it worth carrying on.**

I felt a bit of despair again with some of my drawings in the Victoria and Albert museum, so there's only a few I'm showing from there. Later on I rediscovered charcoal and that was fun.

The pratt struck again...

A few more Natural History drawings given the charcoal treatment:

Okay, so this one isn't.

Looks a mess but supposed to give the impression the horse is running or something.

I'm pleased how the back-end came out.

And that's my mini sketchbook used up...

Animals!

Natural History stuffed animals that is. A bit more up my street now... animals are more inspiring to draw. I decided to bring some 'Sharpie' marker felt tips with me this time.

Mammals:

I managed to make a pretty sorry looking hybrid tiger look smiley...

Another animal made happier!

Ah, this Jerboa brought back amusing memories from my first visit in 1999.

Some silly pratt drew with Sharpie markers on the next page...

Fish (and one chameleon):

Birds (plus one random cat):

Shells (plus a fish and starfish):

Sadly the dinosaur section was closed. But there is a separate exhibition I might go around when I have monies.
